Once a year our team travels to Nepal to meet up, drink tee, and laugh with the people who call this beautiful country home. But it's also about developing the work we do together. Since the beginning our heart has been to partner with smaller business - to offer them support as they grow but also to help educate them in their field. It is important to us that our makers can stand on their own feet, and know how to sustain their businesses even if a time would come when we were no longer there for them. That is why we believe it is paramount to focus on developing different skills and areas in their professional lives which will remain with them long term. Education and creativity cannot be taken away.
Our vision for Store of Hope, dreamed up years ago, becomes clearer and clearer every time we go back. Empowering the underprivileged, creating dignified jobs, and uniting good design with with ethical and sustainable practices are principals we must always be striving towards. By revisiting the country that sparked this vision within us, we keep our minds focused on what the core of our business is. We don't want to work from somewhere up high, but to work side by side with the people who have become so close to our hearts.
